Team members for North Kesteven District Council
Billinghay, Martin & North Kyme

I am a passionate woman who believes that the individual is responsible and accountable in every walk of life. I stand for the principles of freedom, liberty, service, accountability, responsibility and personal choice.
My professional career as a specialist teacher and roles as a family woman, wife and mother have blended to enable me to work alongside families, young people and educators in local communities to empower and enable them to make positive choices.
I care about the mental health, welfare, housing, education and relationships of our young people and their families and serve them through positive engagement and creative outlets. I love living in our rural environment and enjoy walking in the woods and taking photographs along the way.
Citizens and families know what they are good at and know how to help their own families best. There are times when they need the additional assistance provided by local services that enable them to function well. It is at times like these that they may ask for support to move forward. All support must be asked for and provided with full accountability and consensual respectful involvement. This gives citizens the confidence to act in their best family interests and live as independently as possible.
My willingness to listen, engage, be involved with and serve those who need support is unreserved.

Potterhanworth

I was brought up on Beech Road in Branston where I lived until I married. I now live at Potterhanworth with my wife Michelle and my two sons Andrew and Stephen who both a end the Branston Academy.
I have lived at Potterhanworth for some twenty years now and have been active on the Parish Council for the past four years and will stand again in the forthcoming Parish Council electons in this contested seat. For the past 25 years I have worked for Lincolnshire Police in the field of Collision Investigation and Road Safety and I remain passionate about issues relating to these subjects and bring knowledge and exper se to my role as Parish and District Councillor and have supported local road safety iniatives within the Parish. Potterhanworth Pavilion, with thriving youth club. I am committed to enhancing the great facility we have in our Pavilion, play park and playing field at Potterhanworth and commit to support, retain and develop this wonderful local amenity and would dearly love to see the establishment of a village shop and other facilities therein. I am concerned about what I see as potential over development which is happening in Branston village without the provision of suitable infrastructure and about the proposed Wind Farm on Nocton Fen, an issue which will a ect both our parishes as well as having repercussions much further afield.
Cliff Villages

Too many laws are designed from a Westminster bubble to suit urban areas or particular campaign groups. They are propped up by Party members locally, who are expected to follow the party line. That is not always right for us here in Lincolnshire. I want us to think differently, starting with our rural towns and villages. We will need to fight very hard to achieve what is right for our residents. We don’t need more of everything. We need a balance of many successful local businesses bringing resources for our communties, fairer funding from central government to create communities that work here in Lincolnshire.

Sleaford Holdingham

The battle to prevent the Chicken Farm and Anaerobic Digester at Holdingham goes on. The Anaerobic digester was granted planning permission on 4th November despite huge local objections. The scheme was approved by the casting vote of the Conservative Chairman Pat Woodman. The local Conservative ward member Geoff Hazelwood voted for the digester despite having a number of objectors based in his ward. The Ward Councillor, Grenville Jackson, has written to the Secretary of State asking for the decision to be reviewed and is still awaiting a response.
As we expected Greenspan Agency, has lodged an appeal against the refusal the huge Chicken Farm. Councillor Jackson is writing to the appointed Inspector to review the case, urging her to uphold the refusal of planning.
Listed Building permission was granted to Network Rail at the planning meeting on 16th December to construct a footbridge over the railway at Sleaford Station as a precursor to closing the crossing to road and pedestrian traffic.
Network Rail will use the Railway Act to give themselves planning permission and neither local councillors or residents will be able to have a say in the design or construction of the bridge.
Tescos announced in January they are pulling out of the deal to build a road through the recreation ground!
It is clearly a great time for a rethink. We want a new plan for Sleaford that is led by Sleaford and has the support of local people who have the interests of our town at heart.

Sleaford

-
I work and live in Sleaford, with my wife, 11-year-old daughter, and our dog called Ted.
I am a passionate supporter of Localism, believing that local government should work for local people.
That is why I stood and won last year’s by-election for the NKDC ward of Ashby de la Launde and Cranwell. I am also a Sleaford Town Councillor. I am actively involved in listening to and speaking up for the concerns of local residents across a wide range of issues including; unpopular large-scale housing developments, business rates issues for local firms, street lighting, dog fouling, fly-tipping to name but a few!
I have also defended local interests at Lincolnshire County Council offices on important planning matters that will shape the future of our community over the next 20 years.
In summary, I feel I have a good grasp of the challenges facing different levels of local government.
