Congratulations to both our candidates, Roger Smith and Turon Miah in Abbey and Park Ward. Both did an amazing campaign from a standing start and never having stood before. Both beat the Conservative Party, but were squeezed by national talk on national issues! The Green Party won Park Ward with a candidate who has been standing there for years without success. The Abbey ward was won by the sitting Liberal Democrat. In standing, we kept them on their toes, starting how we mean to continue!
Especial thanks and congratulations to the Roger Smith and Turon Miah for a brave standing and excellent work connecting to voters in our areas. Huge thanks to each and every person who voted for Roger or Turon. Important and heartfelt thanks to the dedicated helpers who worked their socks off to deliver leaflets, knock on doors and explain to people why it is important to have an Independent Councillor, free of party politics and why Turon or Roger are such great local representatives. The next election is in May 2027!

“Good Morning my friends.
First, huge applause for our hero, Turon Miah. He has represented us all really well, smart and well spoken. It has been a big battle and Turon did a great job. The seat was won by a green party member who has been standing in the seat for many years! Thanks and congratulations to Turon and to your team for all your work and hospitality. And we have made good friends.”

“Good Morning!
Huge applause and thanks to Roger Smith, who bravely stood for us in the Lincoln elections, for the first time. Roger worked tirelessly for days and weeks, leafleting and knocking on doors to meet residents and even organising a hustings for residents to meet all the candidates. Thanks also to Roger’s loyal supporters who also worked hard, daily on doorsteps. Thanks to all of you who voted for Roger, close on 200, picking a loyal and determined person to be our councillor. Why would we allow big Westminster parties to abuse our local elections as their personal battleground? Thank you for voting Local, thank you for voting Independent. Lincolnshire Independents work together to bring the best support for local people, focused on you.
Caring for People, not a party!”
